🎨 Life Skills with Art – This Summer! 🗓️ Every Tuesday | 22nd April – 15th July | 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM 📍 Yorkshire Dance, St Peter’s Square, Leeds, LS9 8AH This summer, step into a journey of creativity, joy, and inner growth with Life Skills with Art – a 13-week program designed for kids (4.5+), teens, and adults to explore art not just as a hobby, but as a powerful tool for personal development. Each session is thoughtfully crafted to blend drawing, painting, storytelling, cultural exploration, and craft with essential life skills like mindfulness, resilience, planning, communication, and gratitude. Whether you're a parent joining with your child or an adult reconnecting with your creative self, this is a safe, playful space where everyone can express, learn, and grow together. All materials are provided — just bring your imagination! 🎨 What to Expect Each Week: 22nd April – Spring Garden Magic Start the journey with joyful nature-inspired art that builds mindfulness and observation. 29th April – Aboriginal Art (Australia) Explore ancient dot art traditions and learn patience, pattern-making, and storytelling. 6th May – African Tribal Art Express identity and culture through tribal patterns, colors, and rhythmic design. 13th May – Japanese Origami Practice calm, focus, and storytelling through beautiful paper-folding techniques. 20th May – Flags Around the World Dive into symbols, cultures, and unity through creative interpretations of global flags. 27th May – My Leeds Celebrate local pride by creating artworks inspired by our own city landmarks and community. 3rd June – Folk Tales & Fairytales Bring imagination to life by turning stories into puppets, characters, and illustrations. 10th June – Indian States Parade Travel across India through vibrant art inspired by its traditional folk and regional styles. 17th June – Gratitude & Kindness Use art to express appreciation and emotional intelligence through heartfelt creations. 24th June – If I Were a Superhero Design your own superhero and discover confidence, self-worth, and creativity. 1st July – Space & Stars Explore galaxies, stars, and beyond – a journey of curiosity and limitless imagination. 8th July – My Dream Room Visualise and design your ideal space while learning planning and design thinking. 15th July – Parent & Kid Joint Workshop Wrap up the term with a collaborative family artwork – celebrating teamwork and resilience.
